 SERGIO GERARDO GARCÍA KABANDE

From Monterrey City;

Born on October 16th 1963 to a family of 5.

His father was a doctor from Tampico and his mother a dedicated housewife.

Educated with his parents value and a Lasallian education in Instituto Regiomontano up to high school. During this era, he was very active and played soccer.

He obtained his degree as an agronomist engineer in ITESM from 1982 to 1985.

Halfway through his career, when he was. just 18 in 1982, God prepared a blessing for him. But as with all blessings, it came disguised as a tragedy as he suffered a car accident that left him in a coma for two months. As he left the hospital, he was under 30kg and was warned that he might never walk or speak again. He came back home in a diaper and completely unable to move.

Thanks to his determination and unconditional support from his family, he regained his mobility, although he was mildly paralyzed on the left side.

He comes back to his studies as a listener, determined to keep his scholarship and prove himself still useful. Thanks to God’s help, he finished his career with amazing grades, all while still weighing under 40kg.

After 15 years of miscellaneous jobs, some of them as a street vendor, a CEMEX executive recognizes his talent and invites him to a job interview.

He starts working in CEMEX since the year 2000, coordinating work integration for professionals with a disability all over the country through the Congruencia program.

In 2001 he begins a masters degree in human resources in UDEM. In 2004 he actively participated as part of the founding group of Movimiento Congruencia, which started as 12 companies. and now has over 90 all over the country.

He was awarded with a Citizen’s Merit award by the government of Nuevo León in 2013.

In 2014 he receives an award as a success story on the 45th anniversary of UDEM.

In 2015 he is awarded with the Valor Regio award for his work in integration in the workplace.

His work is distinguished by the passion he uses to connect talent in the workplace. He married a wonderful woman in 1989, and he thanks her for her support and love. They have two children. God is great, and through him, all is possible.
